(President of Nutrilite Health Institute)
Dr. Sam (as he is affectionately known) is the son of Nutrilite founder, Carl F. Rehnborg, the man who developed our first multivitamin/multimineral product back in 1934. Today, Dr. Sam is the main spokesperson for the Nutrilite brand. He spends a great deal of time traveling around the world to spread the word about nutrition and wellness, helping people to understand how Nutrilite food supplements can help optimize diets for better nutritional health. Dr. Sam likes to say that he has been eating Nutrilite vitamins and food supplements longer than anyone else—since 1936. He joined his father's business in 1964 to focus on nutritional research, product development and marketing. In 1983, he became president and chief executive officer of Nutrilite Products, Inc., a position he held until the formation of the Nutrilite Health Institute in 1996. During his career at Nutrilite, Dr. Sam took a three-year sabbatical to sail around the world, visiting 39 countries where he studied the dietary habits of native cultures. Dr. Sam earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree in biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley in Berkeley, California, and a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering with a year of biochemistry graduate study at Stanford University in Stanford, California.
